Leadership Summit 08 – Craig Groeschel

Craig talked about the ‘it’ factor within our ministries. this prayer really sums up the confession we need to have the most effective ministries as possible. it’s interesting to think through these words and what they could mean if we prayed these words more often and began to live them more daily!

Craig Groeschel is the Senior Pastor of Life Church which is a viral church around the nation. He’s got a new book called “IT: How Churches and Leaders Can Get It and Keep It” this book probably goes a bit more core than his talk did, but, at any rate it’ll give you some insight to where he went today. fantastic stuff!

A FRANCISCAN PRAYER

May God bless you with discomfort at easy answers, half truths, and superficial relationships, so that you may live deep within your heart.

May God bless you with anger at injustice, oppression, and exploitation of people, so that you may work for justice, freedom and peace.

May God bless you with tears to shed for those who suffer from pain, rejection, starvation, and war, so that you may reach out your hand to comfort them and to turn their pain in to joy.

And may God bless you with enough foolishness to believe that you can make a difference in this world, so that you can do what others claim cannot be done.

  1. Why you and Craig gotta steal stuff off my MySpace page?? 🙂

  2. Hey,

Speaking of Lifechurch.tv and Craig…the Mesa campus is out of a place to worship right now – just temporarily. See the message fromt their pastor below…

Our LifeChurch.tv campus in the Mesa area has encountered some unexpected developments with the availability of our facility. We will not be able to hold services in our building for the next several weekends. As you can imagine, we’re eager to secure space for this upcoming weekend’s experiences, as well as the next few weeks in August.

We’re looking for a church that would be willing to share their facility during this interim phase. All options are on the table, including changing the times and days we meet. If your church, or a church you know, is able to open your doors a little wider to accommodate the LifeChurch.tv Mesa family, we’d be incredibly grateful! We’re focusing our efforts within a 25 mile radius of our current location at 4140 E. Baseline Rd. (Mesa, AZ 85260).

Thanks so much for any help you might be able to offer. This is a challenge, no doubt, and we’re excited to see how God moves to meet it!

  3. I’m reading Craig Groeschel’s book “It: How Churches and Leaders Can Get It and Keep It.” The illusive “it” is what attracts people and makes ministries effective. Craig says “it” can’t be taught, but “it” can be caught. God gives “it.” “It” has a lot to do with the Holy Spirit. Churches that have “it” are incredibly focused, willing to fail, led by people who have “it,” and those people see potential when others see problems. Craig says “the spark of passion ignites the fuel for innovation.” And he says “it” follows big vision. God makes “it” happen. “It” is from him, by him, and for his glory. You may want to watch brief videos about the book’s message at http://www.zondervan.com/it and http://floatingaxhead.com/2008/08/11/the-power-of-it/
