I get the chance to be a co-host of catalystbackstage.com this week in Atlanta. I’m joining up with John Acuff, Shauna Niequist and Carlos Whittaker to bring you live interviews with the Speakers and all kinds of behind the scenes stuff at Catalyst this week. This is a little real time conference resource for all of your that couldn’t make it. There’s also rumor that they’ll be streaming a couple of the main sessions. Tune in starting Wednesday starting at 12pm (EST) as we get started and follow along with us through the end of Friday.
Anybody actually going to be at Catalyst this week?

I’ve recently come to love a song called Your Love Never Fails. It’s such a solid reminder of what the Bible proclaims to us about Gods love. These are some of they lyrics I’m just loving to lead right now. You can catch a great version of this song on Jesus Cultures worship album called Your Love Never Fails.
This video has a sweet little part in it from this past weekend. I got in a pinch over the weekend and called in a favor from an old friend to come play guitar. My friend Mike Eldred is a blues king and can shred him some leads. He’s also the Director of Custom Guitars at Fender, small fish. HA. This past weekend was no exception to his shredding and at the 3rd service during Your Love Never Fails I couldn’t hold back the WOW. HAHA. The guy can just shred and we got lost in it for a minute. We’ve got some AMAZING players here at Cornerstone and they bring exactly what we need every week, but Mike just has this Blues shredding capacity that we really don’t use week to week. So…enjoy his serious shredding and this awesome tune.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on the song too!!! Have you heard this tune? Do you like it? Not?

Happy Easter! What an absolutely amazing weekend of gathering around the victory of the empty tomb. We celebrated with lots of singing, shouting, jumping and smiling; a little over 10,000 of us at Cornerstone (WOW…WOW…WOW – i can remember when we had 700 people in the seats. what a fun ride). Christ in us the Hope of Glory!
This fun little video is from Easter morning. What’s Easter without a good tie? Well, for me it’s just Easter without a tie and this is mostly because I don’t really know how to tie a tie. Yes, I know they make clip ons. No, I don’t want a clip on. That being said…here is my venture of tying my tie this morning with a little help from my band mates. I’ll grow up one day, I know I will!

Here’s to a great day! I feel like this song is the way we need to start everyday. Being reminded of Gods relentless love towards us and making the confession that ‘our hearts are His’! Anyways, enjoy this tasty little treat as Audrey Assad and Ryan Axtell bring the love. Check out this scripture that the song comes from in Song of Solomon:
Song of Solomon 8:6-8
6 Place me like a seal over your heart,
like a seal on your arm;
for love is as strong as death,
its jealousy [a] unyielding as the grave. [b]
It burns like blazing fire,
like a mighty flame. [c]
7 Many waters cannot quench love;
rivers cannot wash it away.

We had a great time with Chris Sligh, Meredith Andrews and their band a couple weeks back here in Arizona. We played with them at a fundraiser event in Tempe, AZ. They’re all great people with amazing Kingdom-Minded hearts. A real good time hang with them. These are some photos taken by Whitney Law, from O.C., she got some great photos of Brayline.

While sitting in ‘Sweet Tomatoes’ with Ryan, Jason, Matt Maher and Kenny Butler, earlier this week, the dialogue was started about songs we think could work acousticly. We then talked about songs that really maybe couldn’t be changed from their original format. We all had a few thoughts and then the legendary Matt Maher (if you don’t know who Matt is…he wrote the song ‘Your Grace is Enough’…no Chris Tomlin didn’t write that…the genius Matt Maher did…give him credit!) just mentioned that the Hillsong United tune ‘Break Free’ was one of those songs.
Well, later in the week we just could not refuse the chance to prove Matt Maher wrong. So we did and here’s what we came up with for it. Also, don’t forget to watch the bonus video of the acoustic version of ‘Your Grace is Enough’. I’ll just say in advance, you won’t be able to ‘get enough’ of this goodness. Let me know what you thought…leave a comment! 🙂
